What Have the Actors from “Baywatch” Been Up to Since?

Whether you actually watched the show or not, everyone knows the beloved beach series, Baywatch. The show about the Californian lifeguards ran from 1989-2001, and is still considered one of the most popular TV series of all time! And while some of your favorite actors were huge celebs during that time, were they able to stay on top in Hollywood for the next two decades? From Nicole Eggert to Jason Momoa, you won’t believe what your favorite actors from the show have been up to since!

David Hasselhoff (Mitch Buchannon): Then

It doesn’t matter what decade you were born; David Hasselhoff has continuously been an iconic star throughout the years. His legendary lead role as Mitch Buchannon definitely helped him become the Hollywood superstar that he is today, but this wasn’t his first big role on TV. His very first television role was back in 1973 on The Dean Martin Show and he continued to make appearances on other TV series like The Love Boat. It was his role on Knight Rider from 1982-1986 that put him on the map.

David Hasselhoff (Mitch Buchannon): Now

Since his time on Baywatch, Hasselhoff has made appearances in all sorts of films and shows. One of the actor’s most popular roles was in the 2012 comedy sci-fi horror film, Piranha 3DD, where he was, of course, a “lifeguard”. Along with acting, over the years he’s landed himself cameo roles, and even dabbled in voice acting on SpongeBob SquarePants in 2019 and has some more projects in the works! It’s safe to say he’s still quite a strong swimmer in the entertainment world.

Erika Eleniak (Shauni McClain): Then

One of the original cast members of the show was the stunning Erika Eleniak. For the first three seasons of the series, Eleniak played as Shauni McClain, but that wasn’t her first role in the industry or in the Baywatch franchise! In 1989, she played in the show’s pilot, Baywatch: Panic at Malibu Pier, which was actually a movie. While this was one of her bigger roles at the start of her career, she also made smaller appearance in big-time films like E.T. the Extra Terrestrial and The Blob.

Erika Eleniak (Shauni McClain): Now

After her exit from the show in 1992, Erika Eleniak immediately landed bigger roles in films like 1992’s Under Siege and 1993’s The Beverly Hillbillies. She’s still very active in the industry, but acting in movies isn’t the only thing that she’s been up to. In 1995 she dipped her toes in the gaming industry and got to play Janie/Jamie in the video game “Panic in the Park”. How cool! In 2022, we will see her portraying Marilyn Monroe in a new film called Marilyn Monroe Back?.

Billy Warlock (Eddie Kramer): Then

Another renowned character on the show is, of course, Shauni’s broody beau, Eddie Kramer, played by Billy Warlock. But Baywatch wasn’t the talented actor’s first big gig in the industry. In the early ‘80s, Warlock dabbled in the film industry and landed a couple of roles in different movies before he eventually got a gig on the legendary series Happy Days. He was on the show for a little over a dozen episodes before making his rounds onto other shows in small appearances.

Billy Warlock (Eddie Kramer): Now

Billy Warlock has been up to a lot since his time on the show. Warlock was only on the show for three seasons, but that wasn’t the end of his time with the franchise. In 2003, he made an appearance in one of the spin-off films, Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding. Between Baywatch gigs, though, he had a whole lot of interesting work building up on his resume. Right after Baywatch he jumped ship to The Hat Squad, but eventually found himself a home on the sets of General Hospital and Days of Our Lives.

Jeremy Jackson (Hobie Buchannon): Then

Over 3,000 people auditioned for the role of Hobie Buchannon, including Leonardo DiCaprio! But could you imagine anyone else landing that gig besides Jeremy Jackson?
His character was such a huge hit that he was a part of nine seasons. But how did he land this role in the first place? While he only had a few roles in the film and TV industry before, he was quite a seasoned worker in the entertainment industry, specifically when it came to print ads and commercials.

Jeremy Jackson (Hobie Buchannon): Now

Jeremy Jackson has been up to a whole lot since he left the show in 1999. The once big-time child star made appearances in different movies and TV series over the years as he grew up, but he racked up a lot of other cool things on his resume since then. He dropped two different music albums—one in 1994 and another in 1995. And about a decade later in 2006, he voiced a character in the video game Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. But in most recent news, Jackson is going to star in a new film, The B Team.

Pamela Anderson (CJ Parker): Then

There is no doubt that one of the most popular and iconic characters on the show was CJ Parker played by the fabulous Pamela Anderson. Amazingly enough, her character wasn’t even introduced until season three of the show. So, what was she doing until then? Anderson became famous as a Playboy bunny and landed her very first acting gig as the “Tool Time” girl on Home Improvement—which she acted in simultaneously during her time on Baywatch.

The slo-mo running pro became a staple of pop culture in the ‘90s and ‘00s. Once the show came to an end, she continued acting in a handful of different movies and TV shows, and got to play a lot of cameo roles. She’s still active and makes appearances in films, including the newest Baywatch franchise films. In 2021 she'll be seen in the film 18 & Over. She's most known today as an animal rights activist.

Michael Newman (Michael “Newmie” Newman): Then

How cool is it that the experienced lifeguard that we know and love has the same name in real life? But you know what else is cool about Michael Newman playing Newmie on the show? He actually was a real-life lifeguard before coming onto the show! That’s right, he had around two decades of experience under his belt before being cast on the show. In fact, he was originally hired as a technical consultant before transitioning from behind the scenes to the other side of the camera.

Michael Newman (Michael “Newmie” Newman): Now

Michael Newman was a big part of the Baywatch series and the franchise as a whole. Throughout the show’s production, he continued to act in other works related to the series like Baywatch Nights and Baywatch: White Thunder at Glacier Bay. Once the series came to an end, though, Newman’s time as an actor came to an end as well. The highly-admired lifeguard returned to the actual sea and has kept his life on the DL and away from the spotlight.

Alexandra Paul (Stephanie Holden): Then

While some actors’ big break in the industry was as a result of this show, the amazing Alexandra Paul, who played Stephanie Holden, acted in countless films before that! One of the biggest works she starred in and definitely helped kick-start her career was the 1983 horror movie Christine, based off of Stephen King’s novel. It wouldn’t be until about a decade later in 1992, that she would join Baywatch for its third season.

Alexandra Paul continues being incredibly active in the entertainment industry, mostly acting in movies, with a few small appearances in TV shows. Paul will next be seen in Wood Floors, The Anchor and the upcoming comedy The B Team. According to People Magazine, Paul has also been dabbling off-screen as a certified health coach!

David Charvet (Matt Brody): Then

He might not have been around for the whole entire series, but it’s safe to say that Matt Brody played, by David Charvet, was a significant character in the series. Over the course of three seasons, Charvet appeared in 50 different episodes, which definitely jumpstarted his career in the entertainment industry. Amazingly enough, Charvet was actually born in France, but moved to the states when he was 9 years old, which explains his perfect American accent.

David Charvet (Matt Brody): Now

Charvet became a huge-hit as a result of his time on Baywatch and landed another big role on the popular drama romance TV series, Melrose Place. But after landing those two big TV show gigs, Charvet decided to take things in a different direction. The multi-talented artist started to focus on his musical career, and became a sensation worldwide with his albums, too! He still circled back to acting here and there come the new millennium, including 2013’s Prisoners of the Sun.

David Chokachi (Cody Madison): Then

Who could forget about the hunky Cody Madison played by David Chokachi? The actor’s career kickstarted with the show, when he replaced David Charvet’s character (Matt Brody). But what was he doing before he decided to become an actor in the mid ‘90s? Chokachi actually graduated college with a degree in political science and worked in the field for a bit before switching gears and changing career paths.

David Chokachi (Cody Madison): Now

It looks like David Chokachi made the right choice in changing career paths and following his passion for acting. After his gig on Baywatch proved to be such a huge success, he continued acting in countless of other works including the TV series Beyond the Break (from 2006-2009), the 2011 Bethany Hamilton bio-pic Soul Surfer, 2020’s Emerald Run and several other projects.

Yasmine Bleeth (Caroline Holden): Then

Many actors kickstarted their Hollywood career on Baywatch, but Yasmine Bleeth had a decade of experience under her belt by the time she joined the show for season four in 1993. Her first acting gig was actually in the 1983 movie Baba! where she starred as Theresa O’Brien. The brilliantly beautiful Bleeth was featured in the TV show, Ryan’s Hope for four seasons, as well as other small roles in various shows.

Yasmine Bleeth (Caroline Holden): Now

After Yasmine Bleeth’s time on the show, the actress continued working and really hit it home in 1998 when she starred in BASEketball, Heaven or Vegas, and Nash Bridges. In the mid-2000s, Bleeth took a step away from the spotlight and decided to keep her life with her family on the down-low. However, it was announced that she will in fact appear in another film, titled Beautiful Evil. How exciting!

Carmen Electra (Lani McKenzie): Then

Who could ever forget the one and only Lani McKenzie played by the electric Carmen Electra? Even though she was only part of the show for one season, her presence as a lifeguard longing to be a dancer was iconic. But the multi-talented actress had dabbled in other different departments in the entertainment industry before landing a gig on the show. In reality, Carmen Electra loves dancing just as much as Lani McKenzie, and studied different types of dance styles. In 1993, she released a self-titled music album and toured with Prince.

Carmen Electra (Lani McKenzie): Now

Carmen Electra became such a viral part of pop culture in the ‘90s and ‘00s. But what happened to her after season eight of Baywatch? Along with landing all sorts of roles, including the famous comedy franchise Scary Movie, Electra made multiple cameos over the years, from shows like The Simpsons in 2002 to Jane the Virgin in 2016.

Gregory Alan Williams (Garner Ellerbee): Then

Baywatch was mostly about lifeguards working at the beach, but not all the characters were lifeguard, obviously. Gregory Alan Williams played LAPD Officer Garner Ellerbee for almost the entire series. While this role is what sky-rocketed his dreams of becoming an acting superstar, acting on screen wasn’t always his desired career path. Before he became an actor, Williams honorably served in the United States Marine Corps.

It’s safe to say that Gregory Alan Williams made the right choice when he decided to chase his dreams of becoming an actor. After his big-break on Baywatch, he landed roles in other big-time hits. From 2000’s Remember the Titans to the TV series Drop Dead Diva, Williams has been a part of over 150 different movies and shows! Williams will appear in 2021’s crime-drama Karen.

Gena Lee Nolin (Neely Capshaw): Then

Gena Lee Nolin is one stunning woman and she had a lot of exciting opportunities in the entertainment industry before joining Baywatch in 1995. Right before her gig as one of the famous beach babes, she landed a spot on the highly-admired and world-renowned game show, The Price Is Right, as one of “Barker’s Beauties”. Nolin worked as one of the game show’s models simultaneously while acting on Baywatch until 1998.

Gena Lee Nolin (Neely Capshaw): Now

After Gena Lee Nolin’s time on the show came to an end, she was featured in the 2003 Baywatch franchise film, Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding. Since then, Nolin has appeared in a couple of other films, but one of her proudest accomplishments it definitely the book that she released in 2013. Beautiful Inside & Out, discusses her experience and the obstacles she has faced with her health issues and offers support to those who are in the same position as she was. How inspiring!

Kelly Packard (April Giminski): Then

One of the show’s most famous lifeguards of all time, without a doubt, was April Giminski played by Kelly Packard. And while she was part of the show for many seasons, she didn’t actually join until the second season. What was she up to until she got her big break on the show? Packard appeared in smaller roles for several different TV series like Blossom, The Wonder Years, and Living Dolls.

Kelly Packard (April Giminski): Now

After Packard left the series in 1999, she landed roles in both TV shows and movies. Even before that, she appeared in Boy Meets World. Immediately after the show, she starred on the family music comedy series, California Dreams, up until the very last season. In 2002-2003, Packard landed a spot on Ripley’s Believe it or Not! as a field correspondent. Fast-forward almost two decades later, it’s been recently announced that she will be appearing in the comedy The B Team and the thriller The Break In.

Brooke Burns (Jessie Owens): Then

Brooke Burns has been in so many different shows over the past two decades, it’s almost hard to remember that she was ever a part of Baywatch to begin with. Brooke Burns kickstarted her career in TV and film by appearing in Out of the Blue in 1996 for a season and followed that by appearing in Ally McBeal for several episodes as well, and then landed a role on the TV series, Mortal Kombat: Conquest in 1999.

Brooke Burns (Jessie Owens): Now

It wasn’t until almost a decade into the show that Brooke Burns’ character, Jessie Owens, was introduced. She was on the show for a couple of seasons before continuing on with other opportunities in the entertainment industry. Burns has appeared in over 40 different films and TV shows, including 2001’s Shallow Hal, 2008’s The Most Wondering Time of the Year, and Melrose Place. However, most of us probably recognize her from her time as TV host, especially on The Chase and more recently, Master Minds.

Nicole Eggert (Summer Quinn): Then

Nicole Eggert came in an earlier season of the series in 1992, and was a part of the crew for two years overall. And while her time on the show was short, it definitely wasn’t forgotten. Still though, her big-break in the industry was a few years before landing the Baywatch gig, when she acted in the late ‘80s comedy series Charles in Charge. The fabulous actress also landed roles in multiple TV movies before her time on the show, and made appearances in shows like Fantasy Island, T.J. Hooker, and Who’s the Boss.

Nicole Eggert (Summer Quinn): Now

Nicole Eggert has been up to all sorts of interesting activities since she left the show. For the past three decades, she’s appeared and/or starred in countless of TV movies and TV series, including Boy Meets World, Gilmore Girls, and A Christmas Proposal. But one of the most interesting ventures she’s played around with since the ‘90s is probably her gourmet ice cream truck! Summer Quinn? More like Summer Queen! With that said, she’s also featured in the newly released Baywatch: The Documentary.

Stacy Kamano (Kekoa Tanaka): Then

Stacy Kamano was born and raised in Hawaii, so it only seems fitting to have her as part of the Baywatch cast, especially the special Hawaii movie edition! But growing up to be a fit and beautiful performer wasn’t something that surprising. When she was 11 years old, she won the title of “Miss Tropical Pre-Teen Hawaii”, and from there, her modeling and acting career bloomed. The pre-teen worked her way up in the industry and at 25 years old, landed a role on Baywatch as Kekoa Tanaka the local Hawaiian lifeguard.

Stacy Kamano (Kekoa Tanaka): Now

Stacy Kamano was only on the show for two seasons, but her exotic look and character became iconic. After her time on the show ended in 2001, she made a comeback in the 2003 film Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding. It was that same year that she also landed a role in the comedy action flick, Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt. After that, she had a couple of smaller roles on the small screen in Hotlines and The Bold and the Beautiful. But since the mid-2010s, she’s kept quite a low profile.

Donna D’Errico (Donna Marco): Then

How fun is it when you find out that one of your favorite character’s name on the show is the same as the actor/actress’s name in real life? We can’t really describe why it’s so exciting, but it’s just a nice little fun fact to know! Donna D’Errico played one of our beloved ladies in red, Donna Marco, for a couple of seasons in the mid-‘90s. Before D’Errico’s landed her role on the show, she had a few small appearances on other shows like Unhappily Ever After and Married with Children.

1996 was quite an eventful year for Donna D’Errico. Not only did she jumpstart her acting career by landing a role on Baywatch, she also tied the knot with Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Six. What has she been up to since then, though? Over the years she’s continued to land small roles, including in Austin Powers in Goldmember, Brooklyn 99, and Kiss the Bride. Recently, she’s landed much bigger roles and has been a part of several different works that are or will be released soon—Franks and Penelope, Escape from Area 51, and Killing Field to name a few.

Krista Allen (Jenna Avid): Then

Krista Allen joined the Baywatch team over a decade after the show first aired, and landed the star role of the illustrious lifeguard Jenna Avid from 2000-2001. This gig was far from her first, though! As soon as started focusing her career on acting in Hollywood in the mid-‘90s, she quickly landed a big reoccurring role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives as Billie Reed, and worked on the show for three years! But even before then she had various roles in TV movies and shows.

Krista Allen (Jenna Avid): Now

The charismatic Krista Allen has been a non-stop entertainment train over the years. Her more popular works include the 2003 comedy film Anger Management, 2005’s action-horror flick Feast, and 2015’s TV series Significant Mother. You can expect to see her starring next in the upcoming films Bits, Five Below, Shadows, and Things Like This.

Mila Kunis (Bonnie/Annie): Then

We all loved watching the cute Mila Kunis grow up to be the fabulous woman that she is now, when she played Jackie Burkhart on That 70s Show, but her acting career started long before she was a sassy teenager. When she was barely 10 years old, the child actress landed one of her first TV roles ever on Days of Our Lives in 1994 and then on Baywatch. Her very first movie roles were Make a Wish, Molly and Piranha.

Mila Kunis (Bonnie/Annie): Now

Mila Kunis has come a long way since she started out her career as a 10-year-old girl. She got her big break in the industry when she starred on That 70s Show from 1998-2006 and has only risen up the ranks ever since. From voicing Meg on Family Guy since 1999 and starring in 2008’s hit comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshal to playing more dramatic roles like Lily in Black Swan and Jupiter Jones in Jupiter Ascending, Kunis has shown us time and time again just how dynamic and talented she is.

Michelle Williams (Hobie's Groupie/Bridget Bowers): Then

When it comes to her career on TV, one of Michelle Williams’s first roles a small one on Baywatch back in 1993 and then again as a different character in 1994. But what was she up to before then? Ever since she was a child, she was drawn to the stage and started out acting in plays before making her way onto the screen. Williams recalled during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, that as a kid, she would “[see] a play and [hold] on to my seat like I would be propelled onto the stage.” How adorable!

Michelle Williams (Hobie's Groupie/Bridget Bowers): Now

The adorable and young Michelle Williams might’ve started out her career on stage, but she grew up to be an endearing and stunning on-screen actress over the past couple of decades. She made a name for herself when she starred in Dawson’s Creek in the late 90s and mid-00s and since the show ended, she had some great roles in critically acclaimed films such as Blue Valentine and Brokeback Mountain. She won Golden Globe awards for My Week with Marilyn and Fosse/Verdon.

Sofía Vergara (Uncredited): Then

Most of us know her from Modern Family, but a decade before landing that role, Sofía Vergara made an appearance on an episode of Baywatch. Vergara actually started out studying dentistry before she was discovered in Colombia by a photographer and made a change in her career path. Her successful career in the modeling industry eventually led her to opportunities in the TV and movie industry, which is how she came to be the wondrous and entertaining actress that she is today!

Sofía Vergara (Uncredited): Now

Ever since her cameo appearance in Baywatch, the energetic and bi-lingual actress was featured in tons of other TV shows including Amas de Casa Desesperadas, Fuego en la Sandre, Hot Properties, Entourage, and of course, Modern Family. But starring in TV shows isn’t all she’s been up to. She also starred in films and voice-acted in animations including Happy Feet Two, The Emoji Movie and the upcoming Kaoti.

Angelica Bridges (Lt. Taylor Walsh): Then

Angelica Bridges joined the team of lifeguards back in 1997 as Lt. Taylor Walsh. And while this role was one of the big breaks she had in the industry, she actually landed roles in other popular TV series before this one. One of her very first acting gigs was The Young and the Restless in 1996, followed by another small reoccurring role on Days of Our Lives. It wouldn’t be until later that she would broaden her horizons and start making appearances in movies too.

Angelica Bridges (Lt. Taylor Walsh): Now

Following her time on the show, Angelica Bridges was in a few episodes of Mortal Kombat: Conquest, made an appearance on That 70s Show, and joined The Bold and Beautiful in 2004 for a season. Her very first movie was Baywatch: The Hawaiian Wedding in 2003, and has been making more appearances in films in the past recent years. Her most recent work was in 2021’s drama mystery Sarogeto and the upcoming The Tale of Two Faces.

Jason Momoa (Jason Ioane): Then

We’re used to seeing him as the legendary Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones, all tatted up with long hair and scruff beard, but back in the day, Jason Mamoa was a clean-shaven beach babe on Baywatch. Landing a role on this show kickstarted his dream of becoming an actor and fit the bill pretty well! From playing Jason Ioane on Baywatch from 1999-2001 to Aquaman almost two decades later, it’s safe to say that the hunky native Hawaiian was meant for roles that involve the water.

Jason Momoa (Jason Ioane): Now

Jason Momoa has come a long way since his days on Baywatch. From his iconic role on Game of Thrones to starring in the Justice League and Aquaman films, that’s not all the marvelous Momoa has been up to recently. He also dabbled in some voice acting for The Simpsons and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. What can we expect from the hunky Hawaiian superstar? So far there are about five films in the works including action-drama Sweet Girl, the western film The Last Manhunt, and another Aquaman film titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
