The Women of Two and a Half Men Today

Two and a Half Men ran for 12 seasons from 2003 to 2015 and became one of the era's top sitcom hits. The CBS comedy mostly revolved around womanizer Charlie (Charlie Sheen), his uptight brother Alan (Jon Cryer) and Alan's kid Jake (Angus T. Jones), until Charlie was written out and Ashton Kutcher's billionaire Walden moved in. Even so, a steady parade of memorable women passed through the Harpers' Malibu house and left their marks. Curious what they did after their runs on the show? Here’s a look at where some of the most talked-about female characters and their actors landed.

Mia: Dance Teacher, Charlie's Nearly-Wife

Mia sashayed into Charlie’s life in season three and kept popping back up through the final episodes. She tries to tame his worst habits and even plans to use his sperm to have a baby, only to get left at the altar when Charlie refuses to kick Alan out. Off-screen, Emmanuelle Vaugier had already been working steady TV gigs and parlayed Mia into bigger parts, including a recurring role as Detective Jessica Angell on CSI: NY and a strong turn as The Morrigan on Lost Girl. She still lands guest spots and genre roles, staying a familiar face on television.

Lisa: Charlie's One That Got Away

Lisa moves in with Charlie early on, then walks away because he can't commit, only to pop back and give him another shot before calling it quits for good. The role came while Denise Richards was already a recognizable movie star from films like Starship Troopers and the Bond picture The World Is Not Enough. After her Two and a Half Men stint she fronted a reality show, competed on Dancing with the Stars and later appeared on shows like the 90210 reboot. Richards also joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and took on soap work on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Rose: The Stalker Who Stayed Around

Rose started as Charlie's creepy, clever stalker in the pilot and became one of the show's longest-running women, weaving in and out of both brothers' lives. She even elopes with Charlie in the season eight finale, only for the next season to reveal Charlie's off-screen death and send Rose in a new direction with Walden. Melanie Lynskey was a veteran actor before the show, debuting at 17 in Heavenly Creatures, and she used the role to keep building a strong indie and TV career. Since then she’s taken leading turns in films like The Intervention and I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore, and starred on series such as Togetherness and Castle Rock.

Evelyn Harper: The Harper Matriarch

Evelyn is the razor-tongued mother of Charlie and Alan, appearing across the series as a cold, wealthy presence who rarely shows warmth. She counted plenty of rich, older husbands and never hesitated to stir trouble, but she was a scene-stealer for 101 episodes. Actor Holland Taylor was already a seasoned TV and film pro and used Evelyn to remind viewers why she’s a heavyweight. After the sitcom she continued to rack up roles on shows like The Orville and Speechless and wrote and starred in the one-woman Broadway piece Ann, earning major praise for her stage work.

Rose (Melanie Lynskey): Then

Rose was one of the longest-running female characters on the show, having solidified her presence as Charlie’s stalker in the pilot episode of the series. She remains close to both Charlie and Alan as the years pass. On the season 8 finale, Rose and Charlie fly to Paris to elope, yet the season 9 premiere announces the Charlie’s death at the subway (potentially at Rose’s own hands). She eventually redirects her attention to Walden.

Rose (Melanie Lynskey): Now

Like Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer, Melanie Lynskey was a well established actress long before Two and a Half Men started shooting. She made her acting debut at the age of 17, alongside Kate Winslet, in Heavenly Creatures, directed by the legendary New Zealand director Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame. Since then, she's landed a variety of roles, including the role of Lurlynn in Sweet Home Alabama opposite Reese Witherspoon. Following her success on the show, Lynskey started landing leading roles in films like The Intervention, I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore and Sadie, as well as in shows like Togetherness, Sunshine and Castle Rock.

Chelsea Melini (Jennifer Taylor): Then

We first meet Chelsea Melini in season six, as one of Charlie's girlfriends. Still, Chelsea is more than just another pretty face; Charlie ends up falling for her, and she becomes the first woman whom Charlie confesses his love to unprompted. Charlie and Chelsea end up engaged, and almost marry - but Chelsea breaks things off after she falls in love with Alan's lawyer… and Charlie ends up sleeping with her best friend and college roomate, Gail.

Chelsea Melini (Jennifer Taylor): Now

Jennifer Taylor made her film debut in 1998's Wild Things, which also happened to star Charlie Sheen's ex-wife and fellow Two and a Half Men alum, Denise Richards. Following her success on the show, Taylor went on to star in guest roles on shows like Charmed, Las Vegas, Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, Shamless and more. Recently, she appeared in The Young and the Restless in the role of Rebekah Barlow, and in the 2019 film In Bed With A Killer, in the role of Lena Mitchell.

Evelyn Harper (Holland Taylor): Then

Evelyn Harper - also commonly referred to as "Satan" - is Charlie and Alan's neglectful mother. Appearing in every season of the show, for a total of 101 episodes, Evelyn is a colorful, albeit frightening, character. Known for her inumerable former husbands - all rich, all old, and many of them dead - Evelyn does what she wants, when she wants it, and doesn't go out of her way to be kind to her two boys or her grandson. Still, she's a colorful character that helped make the show what it is!

Evelyn Harper (Holland Taylor): Now

Holland Taylor is a hugely prolific and successful actress. She's appeared in countless movie classics, including George of the Jungle, The Truman Show and Legally Blonde, but is probably best known for her television work, on shows like All My Children, Bosom Buddies, Kojak, The Practice, ER and Ally McBeal. Since her work on Two and a Half Men, Taylor has appeared on shows like The Orville, Speechless and Good Behavior, but perhaps her greatest acheivment is writing and starring in the one-woman Broadway production, Ann, which is based on the life and work of former Texas governor, Ann Richards.

Judith Harper-Melnick (Marin Hinkle): Then

Judith "Judy" Harper-Melnick's first appeareance on the show was in its very first pilot episode. Judy is Jake's mother and Alan's ex-wife. A somewhat superficial and neglectful mother, Judy's biggest part in Alan's life is as the recepient of his alimony payments - which he finally gets to stop paying after she marries Jake's pediatrician. The two later divorce, after she discovers he is conducting an affair with his receptionists - but regardless of her marital status, Judy continues to be present throughout the series.

Judith Harper-Melnick (Marin Hinkle): Now

Marin Hinkle has been acting since the early 1990s - mostly in theater. Her first major television role was on the ABC drama series, Once and Again, in 1999, where she played the character of Judy Brooks for a total of 58 episodes. Following her time on Two and a Half Men, Hinkle made several guesy appearances on shows like ER, House and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In recent years, she's landed roles on shows like Speechless, where she plays Dr. Miller, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, where she plays the part of Rose Weissman.

Lyndsey McElroy (Courtney Thorne-Smith): Then

Lyndsey McElroy was Alan’s on/off girlfriend from season 7 until the end of the show. Their relationship was complicated by the fact that her son, Eldridge, was best friends with Jake. Though she had genuine feelings for Alan, their relationship was plagued by bad drinking habits and attention towards other men, including Walden. Lyndsey's drinking problem manifests in al sorts of ways - and eventually has her vomitting all over the inside of Walden's private jet, to her great embarassment.

Lyndsey McElroy (Courtney Thorne-Smith): Now

Courtney Thorne-Smith has had a long career in the entertainment business. Her first film appearance was in 1986's Lucas, alongside Winona Ryder - and future Two and a Half Men star, Charlie Sheen. She also starred in Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise, as well as in Chairman of the Board, opposite legendary comedian Carrot Top. On TV, before Two and a Half Men, she's appeared in shows like Melrose Place, Ally McBeal and According to Jim. In recent years, she's starred in ABC's sitcom Fresh Off the Boat, as well as in the leading role of Emma Fielding in three of Hallmark's Emma Fielding Mysteries television films.

Beverly (Allison Janney): Then

Beverly and Alan meet via online dating in season 4. Alan lies and claims that Charlie’s house is his own, though he later confesses the truth once she opens up on the details of her previous relationships. Beverly proves to be an amusing character, perhaps most notably so when Charlie walks in on Alan tied to the bed at her behest.

Beverly (Allison Janney): Now

Janney is a storied actress who’s landed significant roles both before and after her stint on Two and a Half Men. She’s perhaps best known for her recurring role on Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing, her comical presence as the titular character’s mother in Juno, and her present post as Anna Faris’s mother on the CBS comedy/drama series Mom, the last of which has earned her an Emmy award.

Kandi (April Bowlby) : Then

Kandi, a lightheaded 22-year-old, hooked up with Charlie, Alan and Alan’s ex divorce lawyer - but, perhaps most notably, she's Alan's second ex-wife. The two married in Vegas, but after she got an acting role broke up with him, citing his lack of will to have children… and his ear hairs. Kandi appears in a total of 16 episodes on the show, and despite their rocky breakup, remains on good, friendly terms with Alan.

Kandi (April Bowlby) : Now

April Bowlby has had several minor roles in TV shows like The Big Bang Theory and Mom. Following her first appearance on Two and a Half Men, Bowlby appeared on shows like How I Met Your Mother, Drop Dead Diva - in the leading role - CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Psych and Titans. She currently plays the leading role of Rita Farr on the DC Universe Network's flagship television series, Doom Patrol.

Danielle Stewart (Brooke Shields): Then

Danielle Stewart is the Harpers' neighbor during season 4, and both brothers end up falling for the tall, buxom beauty. She first dates Alan in an attempt to remedy her wild, passion-driven past, which Charlie finds alluring. Alan and Charlie quarrel over who gets to date her in the end, but ultimately Danielle takes it upon herself to leave them both.

Danielle Stewart (Brooke Shields): Now

Brooke Shields was one of the most recognizable child models and actresses of her time, garnering many roles and much fanfare well into adulthood. Following her minor role on Two and a Half Men, she appeared on TV on Army Wives and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, as well as in films including Furry Vengeance and The Other Guys.

Sherri (Jeri Ryan): Then

Sherri was one of Charlie’s many girlfriends. She appeared in several episodes during season 2, when she dated Charlie. Charlie considered Sherri to be his female counterpart, so it’s no surprise that he couldn’t handle her poor behavior in their relationship. While Charlie liked her uninhibited nature, her found it difficult to be the one being "used" in the relationship, rather than the "user" - and the two ultimately broke up. Alan briefly dated her following her split from Charlie, but the two couldn't reconcile her past with Charlie and ended up separating.

Sherri (Jeri Ryan): Now

Jeri Lynn Ryan is instantly recognizable to fans of Star Trek: Voyager thanks to her role as the rehabiliated Borg drone, Seven of Nine - a part that earned her the prestigious Saturn Award. Following her part in Two and a Half Men, Ryan continued to make multiple TV appearances on shows like The O.C., Boston Legal, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Warehouse 13, Body of Proof and Arrow. Her most recent role is in Amazon's Bosch, where she plays Veronica Allen.

Gretchen Martin (Kimberly Williams-Paisley): Then

Alan meets Gretchen when he goes under the pseudonym Jeff Strongman in order to uncover information about Lyndsey’s fiance and Gretchen’s brother, Larry. Alan assumes a relationship with Gretchen on a foundation of lies, but despite this the two end up falling for each other - at least until Gretchen discovers his deceit. She cannot forgive him on account of her trauma and history with her lying ex-husband, and the two part ways.

Gretchen Martin (Kimberly Williams-Paisley): Now

Kimberly Williams-Paisley was relatively well known preceding her tenure on Two and a Half Men, primarily for her roles alongside Steve Martin in the Father of the Bride saga, as well as on the TV series According to Jim. Her most recent work has been on the film The Christmas Train, and she can be seen walking red carpets with her country music star husband, Brad Paisley.

Bridget Schmidt (Judy Greer): Then

Bridget appears throughout seasons 9-12 as Walden’s ex-wife. Though she’s the reason behind his suicide attempt in the season 9 premiere, he longs to have her back though she refuses to accept him on account of his immaturity and lack of responsibility. She eventually comes around, though it’s too little, too late as Walden has moved on. She takes the news badly, and ends up ramming her car into his house.

Bridget Schmidt (Judy Greer): Now

Judy Greer’s face has been recognizable for decades now, though she’s also dabbled a bit off-camera, surprisingly as the casting director for the 2015 Entourage movie. She’s also lent her voice to the TV shows StoryBots, American Dad!, Anunaks and Archer.

Most recently, she's appeared in the critically acclaimed Halloween reboot, as well as in Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp and in the 2019 comedy, Buffaloed.

Zoey Hyde-Tottingham Pierce (Sophie Winkleman): Then

Zoey Hyde-Tottingham Pierce is Walden’s first serious girlfriend following his split from Bridget. Walden falls hard for the British single mother of Ava, and the two last from the beginning of season nine until the premiere of season ten though she ends up rejecting his proposal for marriage. Walden later discovers that she was cheating on him during their relationship, and in retaliation, he gifts Zoey’s daughter a mean dog for her birthday.

Zoey Hyde-Tottingham Pierce (Sophie Winkleman): Now

Sophie Winkleman plays a high society Brit on the show - but this isn't a far cry from her real life. In actuality, she is married to Lord Frederick Windsor - and is a distant relative of Queen Elizabeth II. Since appearing on the comedy, she lent her voice to Milo Murphy’s Law, and is presently shooting Trust, a crime series starring household names Hilary Swank and Donald Sutherland.

Linda Harris (Ming-Na Wen): Then

Linda and Charlie are set up on a double date in season 5. She’s turned off by his rude disposition, yet inadvertently sees him again once she presides over his drunk driving case soon after. The two resume dating - until Charlie manages to get in trouble at an awards ceremony at which she’s being honored, and fumbles her big night.

Linda Harris (Ming-Na Wen): Now

While many don't associate her face with it, Ming-Na Wen's most recognizable role was as the famous Disney princess, Mulan. She also played a starring role on the medical drama series, ER, as Dr. Jing-Mei "Deb" Chen, where she appeared in a total of over 90 episodes. She's been playing Agent Melinda May on the Marvel science fiction TV show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as Elaine on Fresh Off the Boat.

Laura Lang (Heather Locklear): Then

We first meet the beautiful Laura Lang towards the end of season one, when Alan hires her services as a divorce lawyer. Of course, she ends up sleeping with and falling for Charlie, and insists that he remain faithful to her - a requirement he is definitely incapable of fulfilling. In vengeful retaliation, Laura ends up sabotaging Alan’s divorce settlement.

Laura (Heather Locklear): Now

At the peak of her career, Heather Locklear was one of the world's biggest models and actresses. As far as her television work is concerned, she's probably best remembered for starring in Melrose Place. Since then, she's appeared in the horror spoof comedy, Scary Movie 5. Most recently, she can be seen playing Lady Katelynn Christian in the Tyler Perry series, Too Close to Home.

Mandi (Gail O’Grady): Then

We get to see Mandi in two episodes of season 3 - "Golly Moses, She's a Muffin" and "Always a Bridesmaid, Never A Burro." Mandi is Kandi's mother and Andy's ex-wife. Because of her similarity to Kandi, the two are often mistaken for sisters. Mandi hooks up with Charlie after she comes over to his house, looking for Kandi, and some very inappropriate shenanigans end up taking place in Judith's hot tub.

Mandi (Gail O’Grady): Now

Gail O’Grady landed on Two and a Half Men following her role as Helen Pryor on American Dreams. More recently, she's appeared in the horror movie Lycan, as well as the popular drama series Revenge. The actress has been married six times, with her last wedded union coming to a close nearly a decade ago. Most recently, she's starred as Krystall Richards on the police procedural crime drama, Criminal Minds.

Paula (Paula Marshall): Then

Paula and Alan meet at a gay club Jenny takes him to. Alan and Paula hit it off, and Paula soon reveals that she is a transgender woman - originally named Paul. Alan doesn’t mind and the two pursue their relationship, but tensions rise when he meets Rachel, Paula’s ex-wife. Alan and Rachel kiss, but to his dismay, Paula and Rachel end up rekindling their romance, leaving Alan alone once more.

Paula (Paula Marshall): Now

Paula Marshall has had a long career in TV and film before she played the part of the similarly named Paula in Two and a Half Men. Before her appearance on the show, she had guest roles in shows like The Wonder Years, Seinfeld and Veronica Mars, as well as main roles in shows like Spin City, Cupid, Nip/Tuck, Californications and Snoops.

Most recently, she acted in the 2017 film We Love You, Sally Carmichael! and in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Miss Delores Pasternak (Missi Pyle): Then

Miss Pasternak was Jake’s schoolteacher who first made her appearance in season 2, reprising it every few seasons throughout the show’s run. She gives Jake good marks while she dates Charlie, though the union ends once Charlie uncovers her mental illness. Years later, it’s discovered that she lost her teaching license and became a stripper. Charlie pities her, offering her the position to be Jake’s tutor, though she leaves for good when Charlie refuses to marry her.

Miss Delores Pasternak (Missi Pyle): Now

Missi Pyle has played in a variety steady roles on both TV (Inside Amy Schumer, Boston Legal, The Soul Man, The Sarah Silverman PRogram, Heroes, The Wedding Bells, American Dad!, Pushing Daisies, and, more recently, Disjointed, Mom and Impulse) and film (The Artist, Gone Girl) for years now. More recently, she's appeared in 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, as well as in Nobody's Fool, Miss Arizona and Walk. Ride. Rodeo.

Donna (Kimberly Quinn): Then

Donna and Alan meet on the same date in which Charlie meets Linda Harris. Alan’s interest in Donna quickly fades, and he asks for Charlie's guidance on how to dump her. Taking Charlie's advice, Alan arrives at Donna's home with the intention of ending their relationship, and does so only for her to break down in tears - just as Georgia, a woman Donna had proposed they both hook up with, arrives. Instead of the coveted hook up, Donna turns to Georgia for comfort… leaving Alan in tears, himself.

Donna (Kimberly Quinn): Now

Kimberly Pita Quinn started her acting career in 1995 with a guest star appearance on the Fox sitcom, Partners. Since then, she's appeared in shows like NYPD Blue and House M.D. before she landed her role on Two and a Half Men. After her part as Donna, she's appeared in CSI: NY, before landing the main role of Gretchen in the FX network's 2010 crime comedy drama, Terriers. Since then, she's made appearances in Twisted, Grey's Anatomy and Gypsy.

Shannon (Tammy Lauren): Then

We meet the character of Shannon, portrayed by Tammy Lauren, in the fourth season episode, "Aunt Myra Doesn't Pee a Lot." Alan meets Shannon at Herb and Judith's wedding. She's Herb's ex-fiancée, and in an attempt to make Herb jealous at his wedding, she tried to hook up with Alan in a broom closet. Alan isn't comfortable with this, but is willing to pretend they've hooked up in order to achieve the same effect.

Shannon (Tammy Lauren): Now

Tammy Lauren Vasquez, known professionally as Tammy Lauren, is probably best known for her part in the 1997 horror film, Wishmaster, where she portrayed Alexandra, the girl responsible for awakening the film's monster from its long slumber. Originally a child actress, she's appeared in television shows since the late 1970s, including classics like Mork & Mindy, MacGyver and Little House on the Prairie. More contemporary viewers probalby remember her from her long stint on The Young and the Restless as Detective Maggie Sulivan. Her most recent acting credits are as Liz Foley in a 2014 episode of Criminal Minds.

Gabrielle (Justine Eyre): Then

Gabrielle is one of Charlie's girlfriends in the show - but is also the focus of a fued between Charlie and Alan. Alan decides to steal GAbrielle away from Charlie, after discovering that Charlie stole his high school sweetheart, Charity, away from him, many years ago. Though Alan does manage to attract Gabrielle, he decides not to go through with his plan after feeling guilty about it.

Gabrielle (Justine Eyre): Now

The Candian Justine Eyre is a successful model, but her acting career is still in its infancy. Her first major TV role was as Karen in the 2002 series Ocean Ave. After a few roles in several independent films, Justine landed the role of Gabrielle in Two and a Half Men. Following that part, she took on the role of Rocci di Persia in the critically acclaimed Mad Men, as well as a guest role as Janice Potter on CSIL Miami. Her most recent gig was in 2019's Winter Castle.

Ms. McMartin (Maggie Lawson): Then

Ms. McMartin is the social worker in the final season who places little Louis with Alan and Walden - after they pose as a couple. After Louis is taken away, Alan sleeps with her so she’ll bring him back to them - the latter of whom likes his life with his new family. She and Alan eventually breaks up, and she begins dating Walden.

Ms. McMartin (Maggie Lawson): Now

Maggie Lawson started acting when she was just 16, in the WB sitcom, Unhappily Ever After. During the late '90s, she appeared in shows like Step by Step, Home Improvement, Party of Fice, ER and Boy Meets World, as well as Felicity, and during the early 2000s continued on her streak in shows like Nancy Drew and Smallville.

Between 2006 and 2014 she played Juliet O'Hara on Psych, and, after her role as Ms. McMartin on Two and a Half Men, went on to play on shows like Lethal Weapon and Angel from Hell.

Courtney Leopold (Jenny McCarthy): Then

Courtney is introduced on the show as the daughter of Teddy, Evelyn’s fiance, who dates Charlie despite Alan’s warnings of her erratic behavior. Charlie buys her a flashy sports car and lends her $50,000 before he discovers that her real name is Sylvia, and that she and Teddy are actually a con-artist couple. She rekindles her fling with Charlie following a stint in prison, though she cons him again before breaking up for good.

Courtney Leopold (Jenny McCarthy): Now

Jenny McCarthy made her mark on the '90s as the host of her own MTV show, Singled Out. Following a highly publicized relationship with comedian Jim Carrey, McCarthy married New Kids on the Block frontman Donnie Wahlberg, and also appeared on the reality television show, Return of the Mac, starring Joey McIntyre, as well as in The Real Houseweives of Beverly Hills.

Olivia Pearson (Krista Allen): Then

From what we learn in the show, Olivia Pearson and Charlie dated before the events of season one took place. The two run into each other at a dinner party at Evelyn’s, and the meal results in a blowup between them. Olivia makes a point by throwing a drink in Charlie’s face, thus bringing the dinner to an abrupt end.

Olivia Pearson (Krista Allen): Now

Krista Allen first made her mark in the '90s as Billie Reed in the soap opera, Days of Our Lives, in which she played Billie Reed for a total of 41 episodes. Since then, she's appeared in shows like The X-Files, Baywatch, CSI: CRime Scene Investigation, Spin City, Charmed and many, many more. Her most recent acting work includes the television show Significant Mother, as well as the 2018 movie, Party Mom.

Liz (Teri Hatcher): Then

Liz is the beautiful sister of Judith who canoodles with Charlie at Alan and Judith’s wedding. It’s revealed at Jake’s 11th birthday party that Alan actually wanted to date Liz rather than Judith at first, which causes a spat between the sisters and propels them both to seek revenge by sleeping with the other brother, neither trysts of which pan out.

Liz (Teri Hatcher): Now

Following a major role as Superman’s love interest, Lois Lane, in the beloved '90s show, Lois & Clark, Teri Hatcher starred in the immensely popular series Desperate Housewives, which lasted for eight years - as well as in films like the James Bond thriller, Tomorrow Never Dies, Spy Kids and Coraline. More recently, she's appeared in another Superman related television show, *Smallville, as well as in *Supergirl,* and in the CBS sitcom The Odd Couple.

Cindy (Kristin Dattilo): Then

We meet Cindy on the seventh season epidode, "If The Do Go Either Way, They're Usually Fake." At first, she dates Charlie, and Jakes develops a crush on her, which gets him into some trouble at school. Famously, she is one of the only women who refuses to go to bed with Charlie - but she does develop a friendship with Judith, which lets Jake see more of her around the house.

Cindy (Kristin Dattilo): Now

Kristin Dattilo made her mark prior to Two and a Half Men playing Yola on The Chris Isaak Show. Later on, she appeared as Sergeant Angel Batista’s love interest, Detective Barbara Gianna, on Dexter, as well as in a string of other successful television shows, including Beverly Hills, 90210, Hull High, Angel, Friends, Grounded for Life and Veronica Mars. Most recently, played Maddie Harmon in the movie How to Get Rid of a Body (and still be friends) and in the TV show Stuck in the Middle.

Prudence (Megan Fox) : Then

Prudende is Berta’s 16-year-old granddaughter who joins her while she goes to work at Charlie’s house. Both Alan and Jake develop a crush on her, despite her young age.
