Where 90s Icons Ended Up
The 90s! What a vibe. Movies, chart toppers, wild fashion and TV lines we still quote today. Those moments stuck because of the faces who owned them. Here’s a fast roundup of the decade’s biggest names and what they’re doing now.
Elizabeth Hurley: Model, Actress, Businesswoman
Hurley broke into modeling later than most, signing with Estée Lauder at 29 and soon became a familiar late 90s presence thanks to films like Austin Powers and Bedazzled. Her on-off spotlight with Hugh Grant kept her in headlines and opened doors into steady acting and fashion work. After a quieter stretch she returned to TV with Gossip Girl and headlined E!s soap The Royals as Queen Helena. She still models, runs a swimwear label and has moved into producing on projects with family.
Erika Eleniak: Baywatch star, Low-Key Now
Eleniak had a blink-and-you-missed-it part in E.T. before becoming Shauni McClain on Baywatch, which made her a household name in the early 90s. She followed that with roles in movies like The Beverly Hillbillies and a steady string of TV spots through the decade. In the 2000s she popped up on shows such as Desperate Housewives and tried reality TV on Celebrity Fit Club. These days she keeps a lower public profile, though she was linked to a Marilyn Monroe project around 2018.
Amy Jo Johnson: Pink Ranger Turned Director
Johnson landed Kimberly, the Pink Ranger, less than a month after moving to Los Angeles, and the role made her an instant fan favorite. She went on to appear on Saved by the Bell and became a series regular on Felicity as Julie Emrick, then later found steady work on Flashpoint. Alongside music releases she discovered a passion for directing, producing acclaimed shorts in 2013 and 2014 and directing the feature The Space Between in 2017. She continues to develop film projects and split time between acting and filmmaking.
Calista Flockhart: From Ally to Family TV
Flockhart exploded into the public eye as Ally McBeal, winning a Golden Globe and becoming a cultural touchstone when the show debuted in 1997. After Ally ended she balanced film and TV work, most notably starring as Kitty Walker on Brothers & Sisters from 2006 to 2011. She married Harrison Ford in 2010 and later returned to genre TV as Cat Grant on Supergirl. She still picks strong supporting and lead roles while keeping family life at the center.
Amy Jo Johnson - Then
What would the '90s be without the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? That's right - not much! Thankfully, the action-packed teen adventure show was made, and we're all better off for it. But what would the Power Rangers be without the Pink Ranger? Right again - not much, either! Amy Jo Johnson landed the role of Kimberly Hart, AKA the Pink Ranger, less than a month after she moved to Los Angeles, but that was only the start of her career. After she finished her role as the Pink Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson went on to play in a few other '90s classics, including Saved by the Bell and Susie Q, and joined the main cast of Felicity as Julie Emrick.
Amy Jo Johnson - Now

In 1999, Flockhart appeared alongside Kevin Kline, Michelle Pfeiffer, Rupert Everett, Stanley Tucci and Christian Bale, among others, in Michael Hoffman's film adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and would go on to play many additional roles in the years to come.
